Obviously, now we’re in the mix with everybody. With the way we played, you would think ahead. The logic of whether to put us in front of Texas? If you can’t do that because they beat us, then you’ve got to keep Texas Tech in front of Texas. What’s logical for one is logical for the other.
Oklahoma plays ranked Oklahoma State next week, where they have to win in order to keep a chance of making the Bowl Championship Game. With a three-way tie in the Big 12 South, next week's games are crucial and can shake up the rankings among them. The winner of the Big 12 south will go on to play Mizzou for the Big 12 championship.

Something very interesting might happen. As it stands, with a three way tie, the Big 12 South team with the highest BCS ranking will play in the Big 12 Championship game. But that is with a three way tie. If Oklahoma loses, there would only be a two way tie with Tech having the head-to-head advantage over Texas. It might be in the best interests of Texas to have Oklahoma win a close game instead of actually losing.
If OU loses, and Tech and Texas win out, it will be very interesting to see how the BCS works itself out. Will Texas go to the NC, even though they are second in their own conference? What if Mizzou wins the championship game against Texas, OU, or even Tech? Lots and lots of chaos can still happen.
Wow, I watched most of that Tech and OU game, and I completely did not expect them to get beat that bad, geez!! I was at least counting on both teams battling it out on the gridiron and the last one standing was going to win. Anyways, great article, go Horns!! LOL
This is why we need a playoff system in College Football. All of this is too confusing. Texas is ranked #2, but lost to Texas Tech, who is #7, but beat Oklahoma, who is #3. My head is going to explode trying to figure that one out. We need to have the top 12 teams go into a playoff at season's end. And everyone says "well then the season won't matter." How will it not? Does the NFL season not matter? Each team will fight to make those top spots.
